NUA Sky Lounge: Mediterranean design and chromatic character in the heights of Mallorca
A rooftop with its own identity
From the top of the Monsuau Hotel in Mallorca, the NUA Sky Lounge project has become a clear example of how designer furniture and sunshades can transform a terrace into an immersive experience.
This rooftop has been conceived as an exclusive, vibrant and relaxed space, where the natural environment blends with a warm chromatic proposal, based on oranges, beige and light browns. A perfect combination to welcome the Mediterranean sunsets with style and comfort.
Interior designer Alejandra has successfully translated the Mediterranean spirit into a contemporary language filled with texture, colour and balance. A thoughtful intervention that transforms the hotel’s rooftop into a true design experience.
Space-defining sunshade designs
The Fringe model evokes the glamour of classic beach clubs and Mediterranean terraces with character.
Its round silhouette and iconic perimeter fringe add movement and a retro atmosphere that enriches the overall aesthetic of the space.
In NUA Sky Lounge, Fringe is integrated into the more relaxed areas of the rooftop, generating soft and decorative shadows without visually burdening the whole. In addition, its aluminum structure and warm fabrics reinforce the connection with the natural environment.
2. Stripes design: graphic rhythm in harmony with the architecture.
Stripes is characterized by its graphic design of wide stripes, available in different chromatic combinations. In the case of NUA, brown and white tones have been chosen that not only follow the latest trends in exterior design, but also dialogue with the furniture and the Mallorcan landscape.
This sunshade stands out for its ability to attract the eye without breaking the harmony, providing dynamism and visual rhythm, especially in passage areas or chill-out areas with personality.
The Shape model stands out for its asymmetrical skirt, which redefines the silhouette of the sunshade with a dynamic and sophisticated aesthetic. Its design seeks to go beyond functionality, incorporating a visual gesture that brings rhythm, lightness and a point of artistic expression.
At NUA Sky Lounge, Shape is used in areas that require structure and balance, such as meeting or breakout areas. Its presence introduces a fluid and distinctive shade that adapts naturally to the ensemble, reinforcing the architectural language of the space.
A trendy color palette
The selected tones -oranges, beige, browns and ecru- respond to a growing trend in exterior design: the search for warmth, naturalness and emotional connection with the environment. This range makes it possible to create cozy atmospheres without losing freshness and contemporaneity.
The chromatic harmony also extends to the decorative textiles and furniture finishes, generating a visual continuity that reinforces the enveloping character of the space.
Premium fabrics and guaranteed durability
The parasols and cushions used in this project have been made with high performance technical fabrics, resistant to the sun, humidity and wear and tear of outdoor environments. At Ambiazza we work with high quality materials such as Sunbrella®, Batyline®, Agora® or Spradling®, selected for their durability, resistance and aesthetics.
Each sunshade and textile part is designed to offer a long service life without sacrificing elegance.
